I have a couple of Kubota 1100's that wont start and run reliably, but sometimes they do. It seems to be an issue with cold weather, or fuel. But it's so intermittent that I am having trouble diagnosing the problem. For instance, sometimes when it's cold, one or both of them won't start. But sometimes they will. Also, it seems to connected to how much diesel is in the tank, half tank, will probably run fine. Quarter tank, and they might have issues. The technicians who use them try to keep them topped off as best as possible. Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Do you use a diesel additive for cold operations?

I just added a coldweather/antigel additive today. It seemed to help one of the 1100's. The other one wouldn't turn over, so I'll have to wait until it does turn over before I know on that one.

Want to be a little more specific as there are 10 Sub models of the 1100's with different configurations.
Serial numbers would help too.

And what altitude are you at?

These particular kubotas are about 7 years old and they are regular 1100’s. I can check the exact sub models on Monday, but I believe there isn’t anything special about them. I am at 5,000 ft above sea lvl. I will have to ask my boss if I am allowed to post serial numbers online. I am not being evasive, I work for the state and I don’t want to violate a policy and lose my job.

I hear ya, and understand.

FYI: Serial numbers on Equipment are not like VIN's on Automobiles.
Quite a few different tractors / RTV's / mowers will share the same serial numbers, so it's not a I have this serial number therefor I own it kind of thing.

Sub model will be fine.

Off the top of my head, getting compression numbers to know what if that is an issue would be you best bet.

Ok, I will test the compression Monday or Tuesday and report back. Thank you
