I have been doing a lot of backhoe work with my BX23S, and every time I have to get off it to move it forward, I worry my jacket pocket or something else will catch one of the operation levers. It happened once, and now I am very careful to make sure that it doesn't happen again. I was thinking that if there was a way to kill the engine before I get off the machine, it would make a lot of sense to install it. I thought a simple push-button switch would be enough to shut down the engine, but I am not sure exactly where to install it on the engine. I was thinking that the stop solenoid would be a good place to start. Does anyone have any suggestions? Safety is always paramount to me when I am on the tractor.

Why not simply turn your key off? Or pull the stop rod if thats how its equipped?

You could make a loop circuit to add a second key shut off, but if your just looking to make it safe to get off the BH add a hydraulic "lock" to it.
