Is this a fair price for an L39?

I am going to look at purchasing my first used tractor tomorrow. It's a 2006 L39 TLB with 747 hours on it. The exterior looks like new since being stored under a shed when not in use, with the only wear showing on the loader and hoe buckets (wear = missing paint). The fella used the tractor primarily for laying fiber optic cable so I know the hoe got used a good bit. He is asking $24,000 OBO. What price would constitute a good deal, great deal, and or a steal of a deal? The owner also said he could assist with transporting it for free since I am only an hour and 20 minutes away. Any advice/direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: UPDATE - Is this a fair price for an L39?

Well I got the fella to come down on the L39 price and got it for $19,500, and he even threw in a new battery. After looking/pricing tractors for a couple of months now, I think I got a steal of a deal. :) He is delivering it tomorrow and I can't wait to play with it!

Nice....I too am in the hunt for a TLB..... aside from price, any other considerations in choosing between the L35, L39, L45, and L48 (assuming you considered any of these models)..... oh, and congrats on the purchase.....from what I've seen, the official Kubota TLB's are extra, extra tough....

Welcome to OTT

You stole that TLB. I paid $19,000 for my L35TLB a year ago with 1045hr on it and I had to transport it about 500 miles to get it home. $500. for the bigger tractor with less hours on it delivered, in my opinion was a huge bargin.
Have fun, grease it often and I know that you will love it.
