Greetings to all,
Going to look at a L2250 tomorrow. 93 with 626 hrs and a Ford 715 snowblower and a York rake with casters. Garage kept. Very clean in the pictures. Has the service records. Changes the oil every 25 hours. Upgraded the power steering. Ask is 9500.
My question is about the blower. Can't find hardly any information about it. I know it is Ford/ New Holland product but that's about all I can find. Anyone out there with any experience or knowledge about these?

Re: Information please

I too have an L2250 I bought new in 1985, and it also came with a used Ford 715 at the time. It (blower) has since rotted out and I replaced it with a 64" Provonost-Puma with hydraulic chute mechanism. This particular one works quite well, and far outperforms the 715. The 715 in my estimation worked only so-so, and I had to run it on the high PTO setting to get it to do much of anything. (which is not recommended)

The L2250 is a great little tractor, and mine has been garage kept since new and has a mere 468 hrs. on the clock. I did have to replace the rear wheels recently, as the original ones fell victim to the dreaded calcium chloride tire ballast.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do, and hopefully it'll all work out in the end.

Re: Information please

Hey Rut, thanks for the reply and the tip. Not being able to find much, if any info on the blower didn't seem to bode well. The machine I'm going to look at resides over in New Boston.
i have a cj7 yard plow I can sell so between the ford blower and the Jeep I can get a blower that will do the trick. I'm on the hunt for a mower deck as well.

Thanks again.

Re: Information please

New Boston, NH? That's just a couple of towns away.

Ok, I found it on CL and it looks pretty nice.

Good luck!

Re: Information please

yeah he says he changes the oil every 25 hours, hyd oil last summer, greased more than it needs. Could be a winner. Fingers crossed.

Re: Information please

In looking at the photos, the rear rims appear to have been inverted, giving it a slightly wider stance. This is a good thing!

Re: Information please

Well I bought it. Snowblower is nothing special but does run smoothly. Chute direction control needs work. York style rake is made by Kodiak and is in good condition. Also got a 3 PT trailer hitch. Pins and bushing are tight, no hyd leaks found and didn't appear to be washed recently. Ran well at all speeds. Tires are worn especially the front. The block heater needs to be replaced and a new OEM part was supplied along with a quart of paint hood decals. We settled on $8800.00.

Re: Information please

Well, congrats! When I saw it was no longer on CL I figured you'd done the deal. It should serve you well. Funny thing, I've never had a block heater and it's never failed to start. Perhaps it would start even better if I did have one! :) Hopefully the rear rims are in better shape than the ones I replaced this spring.

Enjoy!

Re: Information please

I bought it from a now defunct dealer in Keene, NH as a slightly used "repo." I'm not really sure who else sells them, but a Google search will probably help you out. There's a couple of other offerings out there that are similar, but the price was right on mine when I bought it.

Good luck.....
