I think quite a few people feel over run by charity's. At least I do. We got volun-told to donate to the work charity by our regional manager. I had actually signed up before that email went around. But you could imagine the conversation between me and my regional manager about the company informing me of what I should be doing with my pay check. That email almost caused me to pull out from donating. But it has benefitted coworkers that I have known that lost everything do to a natural disaster so I chose to keep donating.
Then there is the fire department benefit every year. It's family pictures. So my wife and I have yearly documentation of how much fatter we have gotten since moving into this house

This year's picture gets taken tomorrow

Costs you, your first born if you want copies of the picture to pass out to family members. So we usually keep this year's picture, and gift out last year's
Then recently, they have made pan handling legal in the state. These folks have popped up on the street corners like cockroaches, hassling folks, causing wrecks because people seem to lack common sense, and idiots stopping suddenly on a green light to give the con a buck

Wife brought up a good point about them. What were they doing before it was legal to pan handle???
Sorry about the rant, and sorry your benefit got canceled. That actually sound like a really good time, and lots of fun.
