ok interesting issue, I'll try and explain as best I can. I jut added a hydraulic chute rotator on my loftness snowblower which meant I had to add a valve body to run it, so I added a second valve for a hydraulic top link. got it plumbed up and i get nothing all the hydraulics are out. If I remove the line feeding the second valve body the plow works, at first I was thinking just air but after holding the valves open nothing moves i crack the fittings and there is some pressure not sure what I missed but apparently I did something off. if you look at the pressure gauge thats where I tapped in to feed the second valve. And thats all the pressure it built with down pressure on the front blade. Thanks in advance IMG_1768.jpeg IMG_1769.jpeg IMG_1771.jpeg IMG_1772.jpeg IMG_1773.jpeg IMG_1774.jpeg IMG_1768.jpeg IMG_1767.jpeg IMG_1769.jpeg IMG_1771.jpeg IMG_1772.jpeg IMG_1773.jpeg IMG_1774.jpeg IMG_1768.jpeg IMG_1767.jpeg IMG_1769.jpeg IMG_1771.jpeg IMG_1772.jpeg IMG_1773.jpeg IMG_1774.jpeg IMG_1767.jpeg

I'm thinking the new valve is just free flowing the pressure but what to do about it

You can NOT put a tee in a pressure line! I think that is what you did since that is near the pressure gauge. The flow through the tee would always go out the port with the least resistance to flow, so anytime you try to build the pressure in a cylinder the flow would go out the other port and stop any flow to the cylinder. But one of those lines is plugged so I don’t really understand how it is connected.

The flow needs to go from the pump to the block, out of the block to the first valve, out of that valve through a power beyond port to the next valve and repeat to the next valve, eventually ending up exiting the last valve power beyond sleeve and going back to the block outlet side that feeds the flow to the three point valve hard line.

I do recall that hydraulic motors cause problems also but that is usually with the direction they rotate and some function on the FEL valve (maybe fast regeneration dump).

Please draw a hydraulic flow diagram and post it.

I'm just figuring that out thank you for confirming the problem I created. since I only have 2 separate valves do both need the power beyond adapters? or just the first to get pressure?

"But one of those lines is plugged that was me trying to figure out why it wasn't working when I removed the line and put the gauge on to see if I had pressure and the first valve started to work

I believe that each valve stack will need the PB installed. That protects that valve stack from the downstream pressure that would result between the last active valve and the pump. (You can have a few valves stacked together and only have one PB port.)

The only exception is the backhoe control valve. Since they are the last valve (usually) before the three point valve AND you can’t load the three point when the backhoe is mounted it usually has no PB port. (This refers to subframe mounted backhoes, not the old style three point hitch mounted backhoes that were lifted by the three point lift.)

I just ordered 2 pb ports I’ll see how it works. Thanks I knew I was missing something just didn’t know what hopefully the old front blade one comes out

I think this is the correct routing that should supply both valves and the 3point. Am I correct? IMG_1775.jpeg

That is how I would connect it.

And just as a comment…the PB sleeve is generally specific to a brand/model of the valve.

I have no idea what you have as far as valves go. The older valve probably has one or didn’t need it since it worked before???

Yea I’m sketchy on that too I think that plug on top is the pb port AI seems to think so too (not that it’s all that comforting AI can be wrong often) hopefully I don’t crack it trying to get the plug out. I did get the specific one for the new valve I put on but went with a “generic” off Amazon for the old valve it had no marking as to mfg just in and T

There is no "generic" power beyond sleeve.

My guess is that plug is a load check not s port.

@TheOldHokie is more knowledgeable about hydraulics so follow what he states more than my statements.

@TheOldHokie
Should he then just use the T port out on that valve to feed his new valve? Then out the PB sleeve back to the block.

OR

Should he go block to new valve, out that PB port to the FEL valve IN and then out from valve to the block? (In other words put new valve as the first valve.).

And I think he really has another valve involved? (FEL, Chute rotation, rear remote and of course three point valve). But I am really confused (as usual) since he only showed two valves on his sketch.

Put the old valve wherever he wants. Its an old school valve and may not care. If he blows it up spend $100 for a replacenent with power beyond port.

still works if I disconnect the additional valves I added. So back to waiting for parts and ruminating on it, Ill see if I have a JIC to JIC adapter so I can bypass the front blade valve and see if the other one works on its own, just to kill some time while waiting it would be comforting to know the rest of my plumbing works

yes I have 2 two spool valves involved an old school one that came with the front blade and a new summit hydraulics one that I was trying to plumb to the chute rotation and the top link

  1. Remove the tee and the second hose you added
  2. Disconnect T on old valve from outlet block and run it to P on new valve
  3. Run N on new valve back to outlet block
  4. Run T on new valve back to tank
Thats the same situation as before you bought the new valve.
