I'm looking to put a hydraulic top link on my L3902. Can anyone recommend a brand to use and also how much travel is recommended.

Travel is simple - measure the lengths of the OEM top link. The L3902 is pretty easy to fit. Here is a suggestion.

Mtnviewranch gave me good advice on making my selection and I have been very happy with my choice. Agri-supply delivery was quick. I did buy the hoses from them as well and they worked perfect.

Would the ram length be the same if you had a QH ?
thanks

A full 3pt quick hitch does not change the required top link length.

Pat's quick hitch draft link ends add 3 3/4" to the draft arm length.
So that mid point is very different with the Pat's QH.

I've been happy with my E Bay special. Came from Holland the cylinder is made in Turkey.
It uses British Standard threads but I needed to shorten the hoses anyway. So I took them to the local NAPA store to have 1/4" male fittings crimped on one end of the hoses for the remotes on my LX.
The hoses that come with it were about 29" long each...

I have the Kubota OEM hydraulic top link. Dealer takes it from the TnT and just sells the top link. If I remember it is expensive but, whichever or whoever's you get - it's great to have.

Do you already have hyd rear remotes? If not, one method is: https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/adding-rear-hydraulics.49925/#post-445723

I used that method by tractorinnovations and it was quick and simple.

One thing to notice in routing the top-link hyd hoses…. In the pic above notice that one hose leaves the cylinder toward the tractor…and one leaves the cyl toward the implement.
The hoses will be much less stressed and will have greater range-of-motion if BOTH depart the cyl toward the implement. Also, when the implement is disconnected…and you desire to raise or “clip” the top-link in the up-position… the hoses will not prevent that if they are oriented toward the implement.
Additionally, you might consider a cylinder with incorporated check-valves so the cylinder remains at the selected extension regardless of whether the tractor is running or not. HOpe this helps.

I have the referenced cylinder from Agri-Supply on my L3301. I chose not to add a check valve, because I use float in several applications. When I installed Pat’s quick hitch system, I had to cobble together an extension for the attachment point at the tractor. I would not be without a hydraulic top link ever again.

I have the same for my 4701. Works well, once I got the correct coupler sorted out for the remotes on my machine.

Any chance you ended up adding the Extender designed and built by Bob Q on Orange Tractor Talks around 2012 or so? I desperately need that as Pat's Hitch setup drastically affected my box scraper performance. I haven't been able to find any contact info for him. Excellent design and perfect solution to my dilemma. Wish I could still weld like I learned in High School in the 60's. Mike (mpspong@gmail.com)

TJ, I see you have a tilt cylinder on your 3300 and a backhoe subframe. How much clearance is there between the subframe and cylinder? I’ve got a 3800 with bh subframe and Pats links that gives me 1/4”-3/8” clearance with the adjustable lower link. Do you have clearance issues? Thank you.

Motor162 - The extension that I made is very similar to the picture that you attached. I had some thick scrap material, and made my extension out of what I had on hand.

Otter - I have not had any clearance issues. I can take a picture for you when I take the backhoe off. I have been using the backhoe the last couple of days, but will have it off sometime this week.
