are the lifting rams on a LA844 the same/or compatible with the LA450?

I would say the diameter and length are different. The diameter wouldn't be a big issue but if the length is wrong the loader wouldn't function correctly. To long and the loader bucket won't be able to touch the ground and on the other end it will raise beyond it's limits.

Measure the length and go from there.
