Does anyone know the diameter of the hydraulic pressure adjusting shims for the fel on an L2501 ?
I have not taken mine apart yet and wanted to cut some 0.01mm shims ahead of time.
I have ordered a pressure gauge and quick connect coupler to check pressure with.

Yes, I know I can buy the shims but I cannot bring myself to pay $38 for 3- $.0.01 shims.
Literally less than $0.01 worth of material in each $12 shim.
I believe in making a nice profit but 120,000% markup is ridiculous.

Welcome! I bought an assortment of thicknesses to fine-tune the stack with a pressure gauge. It was expensive for the material but nowhere near what you listed above. I will check and come back, but gut-check recall it somewhere in the $10-15 range for at least 3 diff ones and multiple packs of each.

FYI - I did have to call around & drive to a dealer 45 min away and make do with stock on hand to get it to target pressure based on info here and specs on the L33/39 w same frame/loader/pump.
Maybe try first...?

My notes (For B2650) say that the diameter is 12 mm. with thicknesses of

0.10 mm (0.0039 in.)
0.20 mm (0.0079 in.)
0.40 mm (0.016 in.)
0.60 mm (0.024 in.)

The proper place to connect the gauge would be to the pump inlet hose on the loader valve or the pump port on the hydraulic outlet block. No coupler needed.

Messicks wants $.71 each for the shims and has plenty in stock.

$.71 each is a Lot better !
3 packs of shims ( 0.1, 0.2 and 0.4mm) are $38+ on Amazon and other sites that come up on a Google search.
Thanks for the answers, is an L2501 shim the same as the B2650 ?

Dug 'em up & here you go - exact for L2501 (and others I'm sure). Paid a whopping 80 cents per. 😬

After experimenting - use a good gauge... I could have used 1 in the combo in the next size up but they were oos so I stacked them. Def. get the correct ones

edit: 0.4 also available for sure
  • Instructions in the manual
  • Check your baseline pressure & shims
  • Every 0.1 is approx. 38 psi

FYI - you will find the same predatory price gouging on LED bulb specifically targeting kubota - not rocket science to get the specs

It would make sense for you to put the correct location into your profile because when you ask for help, you should make it difficult for the people who want to help you. I could have recommended a few dealers that sell the shims and have them in stock, but I have no idea where there is a Kubota dealer near From oTt15426378^ I did decode your cryptic location as oTt = Orange Tractor Talk, and 15426378 as the firing order for a Ford Y block vintage early 1960s. The firing order sparked a nodule in my memory from working on engines a very long time ago.

I got a bunch of shims from my Kubota dealer, they where under $3.00.
