Help! In need of information Second time, it's leaking. I think it's leaking from the hydraulic pump and the fuel injection pump joint. there is a seal on the gear shaft. The first time it happened took the joint apart the seal looked to be ok. Drained the oil , changed the filter, and. Ran the tractor for 10 hours, engine oil stayed at the same level . At some time during the last hour I lifted the 3 point hitch to Full up position and left the lever in the full up position ran for about one hour. checked oil level was about one inch over full. now I think something is wrong with the hydraulic by pass spring or whatever controls the hydraulic pressure. I do not know were the bypass is located. I assume its in the back somewhere, as I had to take a pipe off the back right side, to take it apart the first time. Any Ideas?? Regards , Super B

When the three point lift lever is in the up most position is it still loading the engine like it's wanting to lift more?
If it is you have the feedback linkage adjusted wrong.
When the three point reaches max height it should shut the hydraulic control off, leaving the whole system in neutral.
You should not be hitting the relief / bypass.
Doing so often or for an extended time most certainly will blow the seal out of the pump.

There is a seal on the shaft of the hydraulic pump that can fail and leak hydraulic fluid into the engine crankcase. I believe that you know that from what you wrote.

There is really no pressure in the pump until you lift something like an implement on the three point hitch. So the seal won’t leak into the crankcase very much if there isn’t any pressure in the pump.
