Hydraulic issues

so any ideas as to why this would detonate here? I had been running the tractor at normal limits for moving dirt work. I was scraping a thin layer of dirt when I hear a pop and had hydraulic fluid fan out on the left side. shut down immediately. I believe that part number I have found is correct but when I try to look at any pics it just shows no photo of the part. part# 6c430-36030 assy case, hyd cy

I 'think' this might be it ?last digit is '2', yours is '0' . If so ,about $1300 CDN , ouch. Looks 'kinda easy' to replace though BUT I'm wondering about 'bits and pieces' might have got INSIDE ? Others will know the how and why

I have a 2018 b2650

It serms to be a common failure. Some possibilities:

1. Overloaded 3pt
2. Defective safety valve
3. Defective casting

I think I saw a similar situation here where the implement was raised and the tractor was going across the furrows and the “shock” of that did the same thing. I think I see a landscape rake on the three point hitch in your pictures. Did you happen to be going through some rough terrain when that happened? I assume that there is no chain holding the implement up.

Yes there was a spring rake attached but it was in the raised position. I was still working with the bucket. Once the unplanned event happened the 3point went down and the bucket was already on the ground....

Thats exactly the scenario Russell is talking about. Hydraulic pressure in that cylinder is holding the rake up and as you move around over rough ground it bounces generating pressure spikes in the cylinder. The pressure safety valve in the cylinder is supposed to prevent the spikes from over pressuring the cylinder but...

Messicks Kubota says they have one in stock, so you are not the only one to have the problem.

That is why I wanted to make sure I was seeing the same housing. This is all original parts so not sure what that safety relief looks like on there.

Hydraulic pressure in that cylinder is holding the rake up and as you move around over rough ground it bounces generating pressure spikes in the cylinder. The pressure safety valve in the cylinder is supposed to prevent the spikes from over pressuring the cylinder but...

It is internal - just a poppet valve teed off the pressure side of the pidton. Having seen several reports like yours I think the issue is bad casting design and/or owners putting excessive overhanging load on the 3pt generating spikes to large for the design to handle.

Ok,Sorry I did not see one, the l series has one right on end of cylinder.

Sorry I guess I answered your question in my head. Yes that was a spring rake attached. No rough area I was actually making a flat area for parking a travel trailer.

how much does your rake attachment weigh. how far out is most of the weight. from what i could find a b26 has a 3 point lift around 1600ish pounds .

so if your rake weighs a lot and sticks way out bouncing can easily damage the hydraulics over time.
