I have had these sitting around for a long time. I don't have a need for them and was thinking about putting them on craigslist. Anybody have an idea the value?

They're 35' long, I'd have to check the diameter. They came out of the Ohio river years ago.

Thanks !

A friend was working as an operator,I don't recall why or where on the river he was working but he dug them out of the mud. He showed up one day and asked if I wanted a couple of them, I said sure why not.

I was thinking about scrapping them but thought someone could use them.

Well, there may just be the time you get one of those tractors REALLY stuck, and then there is no price you can put on those........... I'm not a hoarder, but nice to have something like that for backup...part of the "boy scout" kit....LOL I'd spray them down with a some old oil to keep them from deteriorating, and roll them up someplace dry, although that may just be a job in itself. But I'm sure some large acreage farmer with BIG equipment may be interested, as most lifting towing craning companies have to have certification on their slings and lifting devices.

Cheers and have a groovy day!!

Roger is right. You never know if you need something like that.

In the logging community, stuff like that is used to drag logs out of tough spots. Sometimes, anything used for that purpose is called "green chain."

I'd hang on to them for any future use.

Thanks for the replys, I've had them rolled up hanging for awhile.

I also have numerous other tow trap's and chains. I use those all the time but I yet to use these. They a pretty heavy compared to the others I have.

I will put some old oil on them, thats a good idea whether I get rid of them or not.

I was the thinking that a farmer or an heavy equipment outfit might get some use out of them.

I would not soak then with old oil, to messy to pick up and tote around and get all over you. I'd spray it with some chain and cable lube or a coat of WD-40
