I’m thinking about adding two or three work lights to the ROPS of my B2601. I’m not much of an electrician so I would really like someone to guide me in how to exactly do this. I’ve been searching for hours online but can’t find someone who shows me how to install these lights on a B2601. Could some maybe guide me to a link or give me an idea of where to find the wire to tie into? What watt LED lights to use? Thanks.

Re: Hold my hand?

Ideally, you need to get a wiring diagram for your model, (probably from a workshop manual) many tractors have some factory wiring for work lights installed but not used unless the option is selected when purchasing, so there may already be something you can utilize, have a look down the back RHS and see if you can find a couple of wires with nothing plugged into them.

Probably best to get from your dealer to be sure

Alternatively, the addition with additional wiring and fuses isn't that hard, some info in this thread may give you some ideas

Just noticed 85Hokie's response, I'm a slow typist, he'll sort you out, with either factory wiring if you have it or extra wiring if you need higher current. Workshop manual is a worthy addition to your library, and may be needed if using factory wiring.

I think I may have found something near the “passenger” tail light, under the fender. Can I line the lights into this and just put a 20amp fuse and a switch in line?

I can't see which connector you are talking about, generally if there is wiring in the harness for work lights there will be 2 x empty connectors that they plug into. There should be a fuse in place in the fuse box I expect. Do not up the rating of the fuse, a fuse is there to protect the wiring, not the appliance/lamp plugged into the wiring. So the fuse rating stops the wiring from being melted if you overload the circuit by plugging in a ship's search light to your tractor.
What you plug in down the back will be limited by the circuit protection of the tractor.
If you need higher current draw than the recommended circuit can supply, you need to put a fuse at the battery and run a dedicated circuit to your search light with adequate wiring for the load current.
If there is a factory work lamp wiring option, it may well be ON whenever the key is on, so if you want it switched you would also need to wire in a switch or have lamps with built in switches. 85Hokie will have some tips and tricks for you I expect.

The plugs are taped to the conduit with blue tape. I***8217;ve been talking to 85Hokie
And he has been helping. He sent me a bunch of links. I***8217;m thinking that I may buy a kit seeing as that I don***8217;t really know what I***8217;m doing with electronics. I guess it***8217;s just money, no reason to skimp now, seeing as that I***8217;m already into this tractor and implements for over 25k.

When I looked for my rear work light switch connector it was taped to the wiring harness flex in the dash with blue tape so you may be closer than you think. Do you have spaces in your dash for switches? They will have rubber/plastic caps that you pop out to mount your switches, may be two of them for front and back lights. May have connectors in your dash also, worth taking it off and looking, then it would be plug and play with the right lights and switches.
