So I have a Kabota D 1803. It’s on a solar 185 compressor. I brought it to the dealer they put a brand new DPF everything new engine wiring harness they cannot seem to figure out what’s wrong with this thing they started and I guess it goes into limp mode and it just says high exhaust temperature. Anybody have any idea what else could be causing this fuel injectors or anything along those lines you

What are the engine error codes?

When there is a fault after work was done I would always look first at what has been replaced.

In your case the wire harness. Is the exhaust temperature sensor working and is it connected correctly? Measure the resistance at the ECU connector, this includes sensor and wiring. An open sensor would typically show as high temperature.

Also: were the correct sensors used?

And why that major repair? Was it running before?

The sad part is the lack of basic diagnostic skills of the Kubota dealer tech. As Hugo points out, they did some work and NOW there's a problem.

Without seeing the unit , wiring diagram or access to Kubota's computer, things to check and confirm are
ALL sensors that the computer uses to display 'high EGT'(do they all work as per charts)
Confirm, wire by wire , that the new wiring harness IS correct one
Dump and investigate ALL 'error' codes.
Confirm the brand new DPF is the correct unit and installed properly
Dump the 'history' from the computer ( I assume it has one....)
Look for any 'bad' grounds' or missing ground wires.

Have they measured the exhaust temp? Is it actually high or is the ECU getting bad info?

High exhaust temp v a false high temp fault are two very different problems. If you don’t first determine which problem you’re dealing with, you could be chasing rabbit trails and bleeding $ for a very long time.

Also, for those here who don’t know the history of the engine, why did it get a new DPF and wiring harness?

Was high exhaust temp the original problem and they’re just throwing expensive parts at it (incompetence) or was there another problem?

He just said when he plugs it in to hia computer it shows “High exhaust temp”
"High Exhaust Temp" is not an error code!!!!!!!!!
I asked what the error code or DTC shown is.
The "High Exhaust Temp" is nothing more than a notification.
