Hi, new here. Found the forums while attempting to Google help with mounting up my T2740 blower to a T1770 lawn tractor.

Both units are new to me and were purchased separately from different people.

I purchased the tractor in fair but not running condition. I have it running nicely and have sorted out a few minor issues. The snowblower is in very good condition.

Anyhow, I dropped the mower deck and started to install the blower but I cannot for the life of me see how the rear portion of the blower mounts up to the tractor. There are no frame mounting holes or anything that mesh up. The forward mounts seem obvious but unless I'm really missing something, I don't see how the rear gets supported/mounted.

Any help would be appreciated.

What is your mowers serial #?
Do you know what year it is?

There is your problem, that model of 2 stage snow blower was made to work on the newer model mowers.
Your model came with a single stage blower, #T2738.
If everything else works either make the rear mount or have someone make one for you.
Look at the back of the sub frame and it should be real easy to make up something to make it fit.

Thanks very much. That isn't what I wanted to hear but, I'm glad I'm not going nuts.

I have to assume the rear is supposed to be hard mounted to the frame as well? Not attached or slung underneath via the mower deck lift mechanism?

I suppose a bracket on each side should work but I'd be a little concerned with cross drilling the frame to bolt something on as the frame is not real beefy to begin with. Would you recommend welding something up vs. bolting it on?

Thanks again.

Looking at it, a piece (two pieces actually), of 1 5/8" OD square tube about 4 1/2" long as adapters will make it all work.

The only other thing will be a slightly smaller belt.

Now to find the time...

Bolting it on will be fine as there really isn't a lot of force transferd back there.
