I purchased a BX2660 last spring with the RCK60 mmm, used all season with no problems. I removed the deck in the fall and stored it. I just mounted the deck for mowing this weekend and noticed a banging noise when it was engaged. The front u joint on the pto shaft is hitting the belt pulley right below it and I'm befuddled as to why. Anyone have any thoughts?

Without "seeing" the problem, something is not aligned correctly. Any to take a few pictures of the mounting points and the area that is hitting?

You might want to check if the nut has backed off on the blade and that might let the shaft work its way up I checked mine and that's the only thing I could come with. try pushing down on the pulley and see if that gives you any room

The banging noise you describe sounds like the driveline U-joint attached to gearbox input might have slid 'backwards'. Maybe a key or pin moved or fell out during removal and replacement. Try sliding the U-joint 'in' toward the mower gearbox and seeing if you have any slack. Look closely for previous mounting or position marks; may have to persuade it with a mallet.

Otherwise, look to the blade being loose or the gearbox itself perhaps loose on the deck.

After the banging, make certain the sheave is not damaged or cutting the belt.

Could the sheave itself also be loose on its spindle? Is it an idler with perhaps a bad bearing that allowed the sheave to ride 'up' to contact the U-joint?

Please post back your experiences so we may all learn.
