A lot of my tractor use is woodland, including grapple work. It's very easy to get damage from branches or timber on the ground, recently put a hole in the floor of my Ranger side by side from a stick laying on the track, tire flipped it up and it came through the floor!

I just fitted a grill guard on my MX5800, I saw them many months ago on here and it took me quite a while to track down Dawson who makes them. It was a simple install, just had to drill 4 holes 5/16" diameter. It did not come with hardware, you need 4 bolts 5/16" x 1 1/4", nyloc nuts, 12 flat washers.

There is a lot of expensive stuff behind that plastic grill cover on a MX5800! I then trailered it to my local dealer for an extra set of rear remotes to be fitted, getting ready for a busy time as soon as the snow and ice has gone.

I purchased another model for my L3901 which came unpainted from Lown Performance, I just gave it the first coat of paint. This 2 piece model came with a very nice "chin strap" lower piece which boxes in the space below the grill guard to give total protection from below, I will share photos after I have installed it.

Nice I like it. Just bought one from superjet511, definitely piece of mind when using my grapple. Plus they look cool too 20210303_163149.jpg 20210303_163139.jpg

They are just a good investment. Cheap insurance considering the price of a new radiator and whatever else gets damaged.

I tried to make my wife understand this. It would have been easier to try to make a pig fly. :D

Where did you get the grill guard from? I’d like to get one for my B2650

That's a really nice looking and functional grill guard. I can make my own but without a CNC cutting system of some sort it would be virtually impossible to make something as nice as that piece. I'll have to PM superjet511 to see what he has for the MX6000.

Just came across this while searching for other things. If you are still in need of a guard here is my website:

Justin, you and others make some really cool grill guards but I'm planning on making my own. The local steel supplier doesn't stock perforated sheet but I can order it from them for a reasonable price. For those not interested in or unable to make their own grill guards they'd be hard pressed to find a better product than yours. :)

Took me less than two weeks to punch one in my new L3901. Kubota should be embarrased by the factory "grill guard". Not surprisingly Messicks has a replacement grill in stock I was preparing to roll my own from expanded metal/perforated sheet until I came across this thread.

I installed a Grill/Chin Guard set on my new 3901 a few weeks ago. Got mine from Zooks Welding here in Ohio. He shipped it with stainless hardware, and I painted it up.

Last week it saved my grill. Guard took a nice scratch, but that was all...

and have been reading a lot about how people have put sticks and branches through their grille. I bought some expanded steel for $30 and used some angle and flat stock I had laying around the shop. Took about 2 days and an extra day for paint to dry but this is what I came up with. Thanks for all the photos I used for inspiration. :)

These are some nice Guards. I just ordered my MX6000. Looking to get a guard too as I drive in woods a lot. Anyone know who might sell one like the one this guy made in this video on youtube? It guards the side grill also.
