So...I hate greasing my equipment. Necessary evil, but hate it.

I thought I would share my take on this.

The Standard grease nipple: Put it on, it will flop off; hold it on it will blow out the side on occasion. Sometimes they are a PIA to remove from the Zerk. And yes, they do work fine.

The LOCK N LUBE: Right out of the box, it is the best thing since sliced bread. You think that you are gaming the system. Then on Greasing number 2 or 3 they stop working. First, the coupler stops locking on the Zerk, and eventually the spring gets stuck. - I tend to start cussing at this point.

The LOCK N LUBE + Grease Needle. I am finding this is about the best thing for me. It all started when I needed to grease my Hoe thumb and my coupler would not fit in the recess. I bought a tiny cheap plews 05-042 needle tip adapter on Amazon.

I keep this in the Lock n lube and seems to work great with my Lincoln Air grease gun.

What I like about it:

It doesn't leak. Sure if you are not fully attached it will, but it is easy to adjust. By looking at it, you think it wouldn't work at all. Very deceiving.

2. Much quicker than fighting to remove standard coupler, or futzing with the load and lube on the Zerks.

3. It works on all Zerks on both of my machines.

The Hardest part about the whole thing is cleaning the dirt off the Zerks.

Next Steps:

I am going to buy a longer grease Needle for even more control, and a Cordless Electric grease gun that I was too cheap to buy in the first place. It will just make greasing in the field a lot more easier.

I have the lincoln air grease gun and the lock-n-lube. I can grease some 30 zerks on my BX25 in less than 5 minutes, I have only one that is a pita, that is on the hoe, the lower pivot one, the foot pedal one is never a problem for me.

AS for cleaning the zerks off before hand - I have a paper towel or rag for that, only had one or two that were stubborn - the gun moans a little - and I have had to replace a few too.
