I explained my difficulties in using my regular bucket for pulling and digging out rocks in my pasture and asked about rock buckets and rock grapples, he recommended for my L4060HST the landpride SGC1072 I'm worried it might be too light and I might tear it up. I'm working on mostly smaller rocks close to the surface and want to be able to push through dirt and pull out the good sized ones, what are the thoughts from this board.

Note, in the future I intend to either go the L or M TLB route, or get a L6060 HSTC I'm still on the fence.

I've used my box blade to knock them loose and then the landscape rake to to rake them into a pile where I can scoop them up with the bucket. I dig the big ones out with the BH76...

I have the SGC 1060. The teeth are very tough. I pull up some fairly large rocks with it. The SGC has some rear facing teeth that allow one to pull backwards to help loosen stubborn rocks. It also helps to have the backhoe attachment for the really big ones

I have had the grapple for about 2 years now. No complaints.

Subsoiler or chisel plow to pull them up, then push or pick them up by whatever means you have.

problem is the shear bolts, they will just shear, the rocks tend to be pretty large, I've already broken several teeth off my landpride box blade rippers.

That sounds about right. I can't remember now what it cost back then. I will say that I wouldn't want anything HEAVIER than the 60" on my L3800. I'm sure the 40 series will handle the 72" easily. With the quick disconnect set up and the grapple, it can feel quite nose heavy. Make sure you use a counter weight on the rear.

yeah, I always have at least my BB and my rear tires are filled. I also have 3 3/8" long chains wrapped around my box blade supports, more for chain convenience than weight, but it serves that purpose too....plus my fat ass.
