So I'm going shopping on Saturday, I'm looking at a BX25D or possible a small B series.
I'll be hitting a few different dealers and I'm curious if there are any questions I should ask? or anything I should look for?

I may also stop by a JD dealer and look at a 1025r I'm about 95 percent certain I want orange but if there is anything I should look at while considering/comparing (or convincing myself I'm making the right choice) let me know.

thanks all!

I went with a B2920. Ive always heard to get the next size up from what you think you need. Dont get me wrong I love my tractor but theres been a few instances where I wish I had
gotten the L3200.

I got my bx2370 late last summer, I am really pleased with it. When I was kicking tires I looked at the JD 1023 as well as a mahindra 25 hp (can't remember the model number). I chose the Kubota over the other two, appeared to be the best built of the three, and turned out to be the cheapest of the bunch as well. I bought mine with FEL and MMM, priced the others outfitted the same way, I think the mahindra was $1500 more and the JD was almost $4000 more. It's your money, spend it like you want, but that was my experience...good luck shopping!

Keep in mind that weight and tire size make traction. A medium B will push and pull harder, and lift more. There is little drawback in the somewhat larger tractor; it is still quite nimble. Making the switch to larger is fairly inexpensive now, but will cost a lot if down the road you decide you have to exchange.
Make the same comparisons to the JD.

that question is soooooo wide open! :D

ok - i have gun, shooting away!

Do you NEED the backhoe? If so BX-25d is perfect, not that you cant get on on the B series.....

Do you need the front bucket, possibly larger bucket and no hoe? GO for the B

B's have a bit more power as you move to the higher HP's and higher $$$

WHAT IS YOUR BUDGET? this might steer the ship faster than anything.....

next question, what you want to accomplish? You got grass to cut, or stuff to move all around, or like many of us, just have a big ol orange thing b/w our legs that makes noise and works with us rather than against us! :D

tell us what you have in mind as far as work goes and the B owners will jump and tell you that the B is the way to go, however, i am happy as sheeeaat that I got the BX-25D, it does EVERYTHING that i need it to do, some things impress the hell out of me.....

as for those green things...well i will save a comment or two TILL after you get the orange thing ....

But seriously, here is a small list:

have them quote the 3 point kit, they should give that to you...
ask them if they will FILL the rear tires for the price? ASK for these AFTER they quote you....

delivery? fee?

ask what cash does for the price, should knock off about $750.....then again if you are like me, cash AINT an option.......

you gonna get 0% .....so get all you can.......sure kubota is making their money, but 0% is ......ZERO!

Depends on your place, you want turf? AG? or R4 tires? ALL should be same price.......

go to the build your kubota site, build you TRACTOR then knock off about 10% to 12% and that should put you in the ballpark price....

post back and tell us what "they" say........

Well the most difficult task I'm going ask of the tractor is to remove stumps. I feel I will be using the FEL a ton and we will also be digging some drainage ditches and laying drain tile with the backhoe. The only reason I'm even considering the JD is the quick attach system seems convenient however I don't think its worth the price tag.

We are also considering a snow blower attachment for the small amount of snow we get here in North East Pennsylvania.

I'm sure the BX25d can handle this all with ease and my brother in-law has an L series if I need a larger backhoe for a big project.

Oh and the main reason... or at least the justification to the wife. This will serve as our primary lawn mower. We will be adding a 60in MMM

Look at used also. Why not let someone else take that early depreciation? Given reasonable care, tractors last a long time.

If you have a bigger hoe when you need one , get the BX, and spend about 20k, you will be happy !
