How do you start the glow plugs on a Kubota B2601? I know how this works on Chevrolet 3/4 and one ton trucks. My local dealer says that is not the case on a tractor. I can't find any infromation on this. Any help will be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks,

Audis

Turn key right to "preheat" position and hold it there for 2-3 seconds then turn key all the way right to start.

The Operators Manual is your friend.

Turning the key to the left the acc position on a car) and holding for a few seconds will normally heat the glow plugs, then start normally..

The B2601 has 4 positions for the key switch, Stop, Run, Glow Plugs(Pre Heat), Start in that order, there is no left position. You simply turn the key past the Run position to the Glow Plug(Preheat) position, the amber light on the dash will come on then hold there for 2 to 3 seconds then turn farther to engage the starter. If the stars align and you have sacrificed enough chickens to the tractor god it will start. If not turn off and wait 30 sec and repeat. In colder weather 32F to 23F 5 seconds preheat time and 10 seconds for for 23F to 5F as per the manual page 10.
