GF 1800 10 amp fuse

Hello, new to this forum. Haven't been here before because all of my orange has been working just fine, until... Anyway I have a GF 1800 mower that has started blowing the 10 amp fuse. All power is lost, temp is OK. Not mechanically inclined, but not afraid to get into it. Any thoughts on what to be looking for. About 1500 hours on it.

Need a little more info.....

you start it and it blows?
you engage the pto and it blows?

what specifically are you doing when the fuse blows?

First thing I would look at is the wiring bundle - those little fuzzy friends (mice) can have a field day chewing up wires.

I believe you have a short somewhere along the line, a "hot" that is touching ground, a chaffed wire in the mix.....

tell us a little more as to what is happening when the fuse blows

Hokey and MickeyD thanks for replying. MickeyD thank you for your service. The fuse does not blow at start up, I can engage the PTO and run for an hour or so cutting grass. When it goes everything shuts down right now. I have not had a chance to get into it yet, going to try to tonight. What kind of pictures do you want?? There is a lady down the street that is pretty good looking. (Just a little humor in these sensitive times) LOL.

Well sure, post some picture of her then.

Since it is running awhile before it shuts down, then it means something is getting hot and expanding to make the short in the circuit. I always hate those as they are much harder to locate.
