Sometimes there isn't enough room for a decent size lynchpin so they use 'R' clips. The bigger ones that your finger fits in are Ok but the tiny ones are a bear to get in and out sometimes.
I modified an old pair of pliers by drilling a hole near the end and they work so well I'm posting it.

I like it, but I'm a tool guy.
I'll look around for a spare pair of needle nose to mod & throw in the onboard tool kit.
Don't have any baler twine, but but I guess any string/wire would work.
Oh wait, I have a couple pairs of these laying around. :)

Clever thought, thanks for sharing. I usually pry with a screwdriver while keeping a finger on the clip so it stays on the screwdriver.

I most recently used another clip that I *COULD* get off to get the one next to it that I couldn't get off. Just pinned it in there and used it like a t-handle to pull the stuck one out.
