My fuel pump stopped working, so I bought a new one. Hooked it up turned the key, still doesn't work. Lines are clear, but I don't seem to have a electrical signal to operate the pump. Where does the power come from? Is it a pulse, a steady voltage not sure how the pumping is activated. The season before it ran all summer and died just before winter, I pulled the fuel line off the output side of the pump and nothing comes out.

The fuel pump picks up 12 volts through a 10 amp fuse coming off of the AC pin on the starter switch. Raise the cover over the battery and you should see the inline fuse real close to the switch.

I haven't been able to locate the fuse, but is the power a steady 12v or is it some kind of pulsed signal? I really don't want to take off all the tin to chase this wire down

No, it is a steady 12 volt supply. The fuse should come off of the starter switch.
