Did you ever get it removed? I'm trying to get mine off now. I've whacked it a few times and it comes almost off but then I have to whack it back on (with a special centering too I turned on the lathe) and then grind off the distortion from the hammer.
I'd like to get a replacement bearing for the wheel in case I break it while trying to get this thing off.
