On a l245 can someone tell me which way is fuel on and fuel off.just getting back to finishing up and forgot which way is which.thanks for any info

If it's a rotary needle valve it should be clockwise to close.

Does it have a lever that goes to 2 positions or a knob to turn? Of course you could remove the fuel hose to be sure. I wouldn't expect many here ever turn the fuel off, except when replacing the fuel filters. Do you have an operators manual? If not there is one at kubotabooks.com which may have relevant info

On my L185 it is a petcock and you turn it counter clockwise to open it. I think you can see the stem extend.
But you can take the hose off at the filter housing to see if it open or not.
