Frustrated with PTO shaft gearbox shield

I seems to me that the shield around the slip clutch on my RCF2060 mower is worthless, other than keeping law suits at bay. Trying to service that U joint or do a slippage check at the beginning of the season is a pain in the a$$ with that shield in place. Im removing it unless there’s a really good reason to keep it in place.

Get rid of it. It's not like you're letting people ride on the cutter while you're using it.

I wouldn’t remove it all. Just cut it back enough to access and service the slip clutch.
