I recently purchased a 2004 B7800.

When the temp turned cold the bucket down portion of the control would not operate. The next cold spell both up and down were frozen.

With the recent cold, the entire valve is now frozen.

Wondering if anyone could offer some advise on how to repair??

Couple questions:

Is your trans HST or gear? And have you driven the tractor since the condition with the FEL occurred?

When you say the "control" would not operate, can you feel the lever working the valve or is the lever frozen. Have you tried just giving the lever a quick slap toward the function you want?

Do you have any idea what weight hyd fluid is in the system. Also could be some water in the valve.

Have been hearing of water collecting in the rear covers of the valves and freezing. Pull the covers off and look for water or ice.;)
