My four bolt front 12" rims have three extra holes . I am hoping it is for wheel weights
True or false If true anyone know where to find the weights
or a photo of the weights on the wheels on or off

Conventional wisdom seems to be that you shouldn't put weights on the front wheels, but mine had factory wheel weights on front & rear, (saw the pics) but the P.O. "lost" them. Never seen any since.
I made my own, with no problems experienced. My front rims are 12" with the three weight holes.

Thanks!
I'm sure 66+lbs makes a difference pulling heavy weight, (rock skid, neighbor's stuck B2150, etc) but nothing I can quantify. It definitely makes a difference in keeping the front end in contact with the ground. I have a steep spot I occasionally have to climb, and the front end would get light, maybe even loft a little before the weights. (BH is a lot heavier than the FEL) After the weights, it never gets light anymore.
I have since added another 50lbs in the rear.

Lovin' this DIY, thanks for posting it last year! I'm sure it's probably in the manual but do you remember what the bolt centre diameters are? I guess, as I'd be getting the local blacksmith to drill the holes (not fancying trying this one with my Ryobi battery drill!) I can always just pop a front wheel off and hand it over.

Thanks. I neglected to write down any of the bolt patterns for the weights, and I have been kicking my own a$$ ever since. You are about the 4th person to ask. (boots himself again!)

Hi, why do you say " Conventional wisdom seems to be that you shouldn't put weights on the front wheels"? Because of steering? It seems to me that the front wheel weights are better option than front weights that put load on the tractor itself?

The manuals for most newer tractors state specifically not to use wheel weights up front. My guess is that using front wheel weights with a FEL might create an overload condition, or at least cut down safety margin of the load the axles\spindles\bearings are meant to safely carry.
Some folks think the extra weight puts extra side load on the bearings, (bad) others say it is a vertical load with no effect on bearings. Not sure either way, but it works for my little beast.

Thanks. In the case of the wheel weights, wheels bear all the weight, not the tractor. Front weights are worse in my opinion. Only thing is that you can put more weights on front wheels then you can put on the front of the tractor, simply because there is no room for a lot, so one would probably load more weight on the tractor in general if wheel room is available. And steering with weights on puts more load on the steering mechanism probably, maybe that is the cause.
