I have been looking at flail mowers to potentially get away from a rotary cutter...
Does anyone know if there is a front mounted option for the MX6000?
I don't know much about this stuff yet so wondering if it has to be driven by a PTO, or is hydraulic only an option?

I ask because it would really be nice to cut my fields before the tractor presses down tracks in the field.... I never really get an even cut this way.
Any input here for a novice would be much appreciated, thanks!

An offset flail can help in this regard, the ditch bank style that have some significant amount of offset. You can eliminate one set of tracks. Another approach is a folding cutter where you only have one set of tracks in a 10ft or 12ft wide swath.

Messick's sells an FEL mounted cutter called the Laneshark that is mildly terrifying and expensive, and even more expensive with a hydraulic pack, but I feel your pain and also wish that our tractors had a front PTO and front 3-point option as is common in Europe.

Thanks for the quick responses gentlemen... I was hoping there was an easy FEL style solution here to avoid tracking over my clover before cutting it... im guessing not.... back to looking at 3 pt. and pull behind rotary cutters I guess
