Has anyone done this repair. I recently purchased an L3650 that drips oil from appears from the top of the steering king pin on both sides. I don’t have my service manuals yet from the previous owner. Any suggestions.

4WD model? Yes, I did mine. I used gear lube to replace the UDT to slow any leaks, which are very common. I got a WSM on cd from eBay.
Seal is #060, you’ll also need #050. It’s pretty easy, just snap rings and bolts to disassemble. Keep careful track of how all the gears, bearings, spacers, and washers come apart. Instructions come with the seal because it’s been updated.
Mine also has a vent next to the dipstick (looks like a grease fitting) which can get plugged with crud, building pressure causing it to leak. All models may not have it. If yours does, pull it off and make sure the check ball is free, and you can blow through it.
If it’s not caused by the plugged vent, do the axle seals while you’re in there.

When you disassemble it…. pay close attention to the seals. The upper seal may actually be a two-piece seal…and when you remove the old one only half of it may come off. This will prevent you from installing the new one…and it may not be obvious why it won’t all go back together until you damage your new seal trying to force it on. Don’t ask me how I know. (items 60 & 70). The new seal comes completely assembled and yet it is actually a two-piece seal.
(addt’l info: Mine is a different model tractor but these front bevel gear-cases are similar designs. Item 60 remained on the axle and appeared to be a machined part of the casting. It was only after the new seal (combined 60 & 70) wouldn’t slide into position that it became apparent something was not right. The new combined seal was damaged when I tried to move it into postion and the upper half of the old seal (60) damaged the new one. The Messicks people were who helped me thru the problem. This sounds like I must have been stoopid…but trust me… that seal is deceptive. Get ALL of it off before reassembly.)

The above information is misleading.
Item # 60 is a 2 piece seal (seal and collar) which very clear instructions were included in the package. If you click on the link in post #2 you can see it. Yes, the old collar must be removed from the bevel gear case before the new one is installed.
New collar goes up onto the bevel gear case, new seal goes down into the axle case.
Item #70 is an upper radial ball bearing which stays in the axle case when removed. Replacement is unnecessary unless damaged,
