I recently purchased a 1989 B8200 with a BF300A front end loader. I had some valve problems the dealer sorted out where everything ran slow and the valve screamed the whole time the loader was used.

My next issue is, when raising the boom and dumping (uncurling) the bucket at the same time, the boom crashes down. And when raising the boom and trying to curl the bucket to pick up a load, it stops and only does one or the other but not both at the same time. Is that normal operation......it doesn't seem right or safe to me

Inspect the linkage, if all of that look to be in good shape, you'll need to disassemble the valve and look for issues, most likely and sadly you will have either a damaged valve spool or valve body, and either will require you to buy a new valve.

Turns out I have an aftermarket valve assembly on the loader and the shop tells me they can't fix it and they can't get a new valve assembly.

The part number is 70726-61114 and I can find it at some US dealers but not in Canada. It is here http://www.colemanequip.com/Parts_Detail.asp?partID=661480

I wonder if anyone knows of a similar valve that would work properly on the BF300-A

There are some cheap yet good alternatives to the stock valve, I'll look them up in the morning and get back to you. ;)

No need to start several threads on the same subject as it get confusing to members as to the flow of the subject.

Did you manage to find a valve that will work? It is sitting at the dealership right now and they are telling me they can't find one that will work. I'd sure like to call and tell them what to use.

Cheers

If you want a joystick valve:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-Hydra...057858?hash=item25984e4b42:g:HJkAAMXQVT9S79uU

or a 2 lever valve:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-SPOOL-8-G...828227?hash=item2819941a03:g:kisAAOSwMNxXUE4i

With either valve if they have set the tractor up for Power beyond you might need to get the adapter plug if not supplied with the valve.
How you can tell if tractor is setup for power beyond it the existing valve will have 1 in line and 2 out lines (this is not counting the 4 lines to the loader cylinders).

And very likely you will need to get hoses made to fit valve or you will need to get adapters to fit SAE 8 to whatever size they are on your loader and tractor. ;)

In your opinion, which control style is easier to use?

And both of these will raise and curl/uncurl at the same time?

This is a huge help

Thank you
