So I was doing my 50 hour stuff this weekend--L4400HST 4WD. On my tractor I have a breather plug opposite the grease zerk. As per the instructions I (always) removed the breather port and started pumping grease. I noticed that not only was the grease coming out of the port but also above that to the rear of the tractor. I am assuming this SHOULD be sealed--the reason for the breather port.

Is this something I need to worry about? I understand that it is probably not supposed to do that, but so long as I grease it regularly (maybe more often now) is this something that needs to be fixed immediately/ever.

I'm glad you were able to get the plug out. I have tried and tried with no success to get it out. So, I just put in a couple of pumps of grease and move on.

Every L series I've serviced has that nasty 7MM head pipe plug that was installed way too tight.
And,I've never been able to find a 7MM 4 point socket to help remove them.
