I found someone selling used Harrows on Craigslist. Would it not
be something I could use, I plan on disking up 1/2 acre plots and
then dragging it with the Harrow. I'm thinking the Harrow would
break up clods and cover the seeds.
My selections are
Two 6 feet harrows for $100, hitch included
Two 4 1/2 feet harrows for $50, Hitch for additional $25
Three 4 1/2 feet Harrows for $120, Hitch Included
One 4 1/2 feet drag harrow for $30

Price seems reasonable to me but then I know absolutely
nothing about it. What say you

We like pictures have any of the above mentioned?

The harrows should work for busting up clogs, I try to disk when soil is dry to prevent clogs or use smooth blades disks on back and notched on front of your disk.

Covering seeds be cautious, planting depth differs from seed to seed.

I cover my grain seeds using my disk with very little pitch.

My small seeds like clover I culti pack, covering to deep and they will not germinate. All that is need for small seeds is good seed to ground contact and a nice rain does the rest.

If it's a spring tooth harrow, it should break up the clods, but if you're disking, the disk should already break them up pretty well. It should work ok for covering small grain seeds, but like creature meadow said, it will be too much for small seeds like alfalfa and clover. It probably won't be deep enough for corn, beans, peas etc.

Spike harrow. The challenge with these is that they don't flex across their width of four feet. On uneven ground, they have trouble following the contour. Some are adjustable for the angle of the spikes (aggressiveness). I would look at these as a tool for preparing the seed bed but not for use after the seed has been laid. HTH's
