I read and re-read the first thread on foam filled tires -
http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13080 -
and have questions!
I'd looked into foam filled tires a couple of years ago, and thought I'd found that the foam is bowling ball type foam, not the RTV type stuff you can get in wheel barrow tires. Am I right? If I am, doesn't it put a heck of a strain on the steering gear? Or in the case of the rear wheels - on the driver?
When you liquid-fill a tire for ballast they recommend you only go for 75% full, mostly because you want the cushion provided by the 25% compressed air pocket.
