There is a wide variety of flail mowers from light, medium, heavy duty to Finish Flail mowers. I'm confused what are some members running successfully with a 26HP Kubota (20HP at the PTO)?
I wanted a 48" medium duty with hammers for 1-2" brush cutting and 1 foot grass, does anyone use a medium duty 48 - 54" flail with a 20HP PTO Kubota. If so how do you find it works under the conditions described? Thanks Cheers

The first place to start for info is your operators manual. There should be a table in there with sizes and weights of implements that tractor can handle. I think the B2601 is a fairly new model, so it might take a while for a user to happen on your question that has the experience you are hoping for. 48" sounds reasonable, but it is important to stay within guidelines while the tractor is still under warranty.

Thanks, I am away from home for a few weeks and never thought about the owners manual... For info from the manual Flail Mower max size is 48" they don't give a max weight but a tiller max is 470lbs and a rotary mower is 48" and 450lbs so I'd say a flail mower shouldn't be any heavier than these implements.
