looking for ANY info on an FL1020 tiller

I have been looking for a tiller for 3 months and finally found a used one. It is an offset 44" Kubota FL1020 I can not find any info on this tiller... weight,
age, chain adjustment procedure. I will be tilling a few lawns and gardens so will not be seeing a lot of use.

I noticed it has 2 tines on each outside flange and 4 on the 3 inside flanges.
Anybody know why you would set one up this way? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: looking for ANY info on an FL1020 tiller

I just got an FL1020 and can only find a little info on it. There are a couple manuals on ebay but I'm not ready to pay the price being asked. I have a BX25D tractor. I need to replace the main seal for the PTO Drive shaft on the tiller end, and could really use a gearbox diagram. I also believe the PTO shaft is a few inches to long. Sorry I cannot help you, but would appreciate any info you may have come across. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.:D:D Best answer I can give with respect to the number of tines outside vs inside, is the inner ones will have a common bolt disc, for 2 sets of tines, whereas, the outside ones are just for single direction, outside pointing tines, Depending on the width of the tiller, tine spacing will vary. I suspect 44 and 48 inch tillers have a common shaft, to save the mfr some parts to inventory...

As to all other questions, I would suggest trying to find an original manual, they do show up, from time to time, on fleabay...:D:D
