Been lurking around these forums a few months and figured now I can say hi. I got lucky enough to walk in a dealer and 3 weeks later take delivery of my LX2610SU. Decided on the SU model as I didn’t need a mid PTO and I liked the larger tires. Have a few acres of grass to cut, decent sized garden to till, plenty of loader work, and 1/4 mile dirt driveway to maintain. Also picked up a barely used Land Pride FDR1660 this morning for $800. Excited to graduate from runnin tractors that are 60 years old. No matter how tough they feel, just can’t compare with a modern diesel with a loader and 4WD.

Amen to that. Our antiques stay in running condition and no plans to get rid of them, but at some point they are for nostalgia, not routine work. There really is no comparison.

Congratulations on your transition to modern equipment and welcome to the forum.

Looks just like mine. I think it's gonna impress you. My "Do Not Like" list on this machine is VERY short.

I've done a very few mods/addons to mine. They're all on here, with photos.

Tractor ownership is like a work in progress, and, with any luck, it will be for a very long time, adapting to my needs and whims. I fully expect my tractor to become an inheritance in one way or another, but hopefully, not the reason for the inheritance. What makes 'em so useful also makes 'em very dangerous. Be careful and diligent, you'll have a lot of enjoyment.

You got that right. my buddy was running his 74ish IH, I was on my little BX and I was moving dirt just as fast as him. I could travel to and from the pile 3x per his 1 trip. Sometimes it is fun hoppin on an old smelly machine though. Something about the smell of diesel and dripping hydraulic fluid lol

Thanks everybody. Seems to me that there’s a lot of good folk on this forum with plenty of knowledge. I’m looking forward to getting it dirty, the neighbors already have a want list longer than my to do list! I sure don’t mind it though, any reason to do tractor work is fine with me. Definitely didn’t spend $18k to let it sit in the garage!

congrats on the tractor. I came to the same conclusion tired of fixing my 65 year old farmall instead of actually working on the project I started on. I have b2301 with attachments coming the first week of January.
