Absolutely correct, as you know I cold remove the fel completely and if I load the tractor enough by pulling against a large load the front wheels will still come off the ground.

My two cents

Is there any risk of harm to the FEL if a snow pusher is used in Float Mode going forwards? I always regarded Float as something to use when in reverse with a bucket. I assume snow/ice is different? On an irregular gravel driveway like mine using Float would avoid the snow pusher digging in and take advantage of the side skid shoes on the pusher. Thoughts?

Float is THE position you want/need to be in, so the blade follows the contour of the land. THAT is how snowplow trucks are used, well were, 5 decades ago when I did it..
Just be sure ground/driveway/gavel is frozen.

use the float not much for forward bucket work, but back dragging using float is really helpful.

My main use for the float is when the front mount blower is on, Drop it into float, and go blow.
