I'm working on an LA650 front end loader, and just wanted to double-check that I understand the hydraulic connections. I bought a Cross DV loader valve for it and I want to connect the control valve to the tractor hydraulic block.
The new loader valve has ports labeled A, B, C, D, IN and OUT. In addition, it has a Power Beyond port plus a Power Beyond "conversion plug" that must also be installed, if I understand the instructions correctly.
The hydraulic block on the tractor has three ports, which the manual labels IN, OUT (both facing outwards) and Tank (i.e., low-pressure return, facing forward).
How they connect:
- The hoses to/from the loader arm cylinder connect to A and B, and the hoses from the bucket cylinder connect to C and D.
If I understood an earlier conversation about this:
- The OUT port on the tractor block is connected to the IN port on the loader valve; it's providing power.
- The OUT port on the loader valve connects to the Tank port on the tractor hydraulic block; i.e., it's a low-pressure return
- The Power Beyond port on the loader valve connects to the IN side of the loader block; it's a high-pressure return.
I don't really understand the conversion plug, but I bought it and I plan to install it (it goes on the side, whereas the Power Beyond output port is on the same face as the other ports).
Does all that sound right?
Thanks!
