Wood chipper. Hydraulic feed.

Manny, What hydraulic line is feeding the chipper?

From looking at it and the Wallenstein site, it appears the feeder runs off the tractor hydraulics and it requires 3 to 6 GPM. Kind of hard to say from the pic, but it doesn’t look like it has many hours on it. That or you keep it very clean.

So: Has it ever worked? If yes, do you know of anything that changed? Did it stop mid use or did it work last time you hooked it up but this time it doesn’t work when you hooked it up? Could be as simple as a quick connect that “looks” seated properly but isn’t actually seated. Does it have a variable speed control? My Woodland Mills does and if it gets loose and rattles to zero, it stops.

Do you have it hooked to a continuous on SCV?

LA1065 is a loader, not a tractor. Based on the loader, I’m assuming you have a MX5400 or MX6000 so you should have the requisite 3 to 6 GPM. If it never worked, how do you have it plumbed on the tractor side?

There isn’t a lot to go wrong with a hydraulic motor. Start simple. Make sure you have continuous flow in and out. Disconnect and reconnect quick couples. You’re more likely to have a quick couple issue or plumbing issue on the tractor side than a hydraulic motor issue.

curious, so I downloaded the manual...

Have you adjusted the ' feed ' speed lever or whatever they call it ?
There's a lever for direction ( in or out) AND a control for the speed the rollers turn.
