Fast clicking but no start!

Hello,

I preface with saying I am still on my honeymoon with the B7800. First marriage for me but 2nd for the Kubota, with only 90 hours before me. For the first 12 months, it has started great. Due to weather and schedule, it sat for about 3 months, covered by a tarp.

When I attempted to start last weekend, I get a fast clicking sound and the lights for Oil Pressure, Electrical, and Glow Plug all flash in the same rapid pace as the clicking. I pulled the battery and put it on a charge.

A few days later, I checked for good contact in battery cables, then reconnected the battery. Still the same results. I have PTOs Off and Speed Set Lever & Hydraulic Control Lever in Neutral, Clutch Pedal depressed, but still get the same fast clicking and lights flashing.

I have tried turn Hazards and Headlights, with all working well, so the battery seems to maintain the charge.

Not sure if I have missed something or if a part/connection has failed while at rest.

Check your battery voltage and positive and negative cables at both ends. The dropping voltage and flashing lights indicate either low battery or a bad connection. Most common is a bad connection. But a quick check of the voltage will tell you which way to go

Pull the ground wire off at the tractor side of the connection as that's the most common bad connection.

Could also Be the HST safety switch, try wiggling the pedal to center while cranking.

Thank you Daren! Apparently, 54CCA isn't enough to start a Kubota! A new battery did the trick. For once, a simple solution!

54? Thats some powerful battery.
That buzz usually indicates a bad connection, cables or internally in battery. A word of caution, when root cause is a bad battery, causing that buzz- it is arcing inside battery. Risk of Explosion that results in flying plastic and battery acid. I have witnessed this twice in my lifetime, fortunately both times with hood closed.
