Flood Penetrol... made by PPG. Apply with a clean cotton rag after cleaning. Sold at Lowes and just about every hardware store in the paint dept. Leaves a satin finish clear coat. Rat rod gang has had great success with it for years. I've been using it on headlamps for quite some time now... very happy customers.

Both mine are Mary Kay pink and have been for quite some time. I ignore it.

The hood and fenders on my Kawasaki Mule were badly scratched when I bought it. Used my DA in successive grits to remove the worst, then wet sanded with 400, 600 & 1000 grits. Finished by applying 20 coats of Holloway floor shine, wet sanding after every 5 coats. Used hair dryer to speed up drying time. Took about 3 evenings. Turned out great and easy to touch up when needed.

Just got to watch out how strong a solution some cleaners (Purple Power in this case) you use to wash, as it can soften and discolor finish. A light wet sand and reapplying shine will fix it.

Quit using Purple Power some years back. Like Wilfman, I'm a ZEP user now. Much better stuff.

Agreed. A neighbor turned me on to PP 15+ years ago, and was terrific stuff then, and cheap too. Now is just another reformulated, human/enviro friendly product that's been forced upon us.

Will give ZEP a test drive.

ZEP is purple too (like Purple Power is) but it isn't. Just the color. Much better stuff. The old PP and then new PP are different animals entirely.

I've seen p-70 clear pvc primer used to restore faded plastics. Worked really good. I saw a video of a guy using it on hot tub faded plastics

The only plastic on mine is the front grille. It deserves to be faded though, it's 34 years old. To solve that problem I just painted it. The bumper cover on cars are painted so why not a tractor grille. I used the same adhesion promoter and primer like I did on the car, just used a different topcoat.
