Hello, this is my first time posting to this site.
I recently purchased a used F3680 and side discharge 72" deck model # RCK72P-F36. I have put roughly a tank of fuel through it and about 8 hours on the machine since purchase, and mowed with it 4-5 times.
I went out mowing Saturday 7/20 and the mower was producing an uneven cut. First I thought the blades were dull, but upon inspection they are okay. Went back out to make another test pass, and felt an unusual shake or rattle coming from the deck. I flipped the mower up to clean out grass/dirt/debris stuck to the edges. In the control area of the shop and low speed I engaged the PTO, the shaft rotates and I assume the center blade is rotating but the two outside pulleys are not moving.
I checked the tension on the belt and it seemed taught. When manipulating the outer blades back and forth the center pulley is moving unevenly and not parallel to the deck.
My question for the group is, should I be concentrating on the pulley and the connecting shaft, (I thought possibly there is a key-way that broke on the shaft). Or do I need to look at replacing the center gear box?
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions. I have tried looking on YouTube, but these models seem to be commercially used and professionally serviced.
King Regards,
Brent
