My F2680E has started operating very strange at times while operating at full power sometimes when I am mowing down hill the mower looses power and is reduced to all most and idle, after a couple of seconds the engine starts regaining rpm and goes back to full power. The same thing happens sometimes when I back up quickly. When it first started I though it was because the mower was low on diesel as it had below a quarter of a tank, but it still does this when I have just filled the tank. I have replaced the in line fuel filter and that didn't seem to change any thing. Any suggestions I want my mower to operate like the beast it use to be.

I'm having exactly the same problem but when I'm driving in the morning.I'll start driving and when I shift gears it will accelerate then decelerate and lose power I can push the gas all the way down and it won't accelerate. ..what can it be?

Are you guys sure your seat switches are not cutting out the fuel solenoid?

Try this: Put the tractor in low range. Aim it down a long drive you can drive for awhile on and not have to navigate too much while shifting your weight around. Start rolling and raise the RPM to 1500-2000.

Now, while everything is working fine, start shifting your weight around slowly in the seat. On my L3800, if I leaned right to check clearance on the right rear tire, the engine would quit. Once back upright in the seat, the machine would run fine. Wiggle all around and get light in the seat while doing it. If you don't experience any reduction in RPMs associated with weight shifting, the seat switch is probably not the issue in your case.

I just bent my bracket to ensure more engagement with the seat. Some machines have another seat switch inside the seat itself which often fails to sense weight.

Good luck!

I'll try it out but I highly doubt it can be that ...it seems like it looses power when I try to accelerate quick it does the same thing when my dpf is in clean mode

I don't think it's the seat safety switch because my mower continues to run when you dismount the tractor even with the pto engaged. I thought it might be a reverse safety switch but it doesn't happen every time you back up. If this mower was equipped with a safety switch on the seat it must have been jumped or disconnected by the previous owners because its not working.

You could have something in the tank blocking the outlet at certain attitudes. That seat switch working on a mower is really important.

You might check all of the transmission and hydrostat mounting bolts. It won't take much slack to throw off the short throw of the controls. Quite a few regular garden tractors have experienced the same type symptoms with either loose bolts or cracked frames.
