The left outside door handle on my 2003 M9000 came off in my hand the other day. It has very low hours but sat outside impounded for 7 years. I am wondering if the sun may have been a factor or is this a common problem. Anyone else had their door handle break?

maybe not common, but understandable. Most 'plastics' become brittle with enough UV exposure.
I KNOW first hand that all 'tyraps' even black ones go brittle in the sun...

The left side handle broke on the bottom. It is still attached at the top so it still functions but I switched it with the right side one [they are identical on my M]. Hopefully this one won't break.
A complete handle/latch unit is the only replacement. Big $

Mine broke on the top first I think. The replacement is $66 but had to be ordered. I didn't really consider swapping them but my loader stick easily moves forward so I just have to remember to be European and get in on the right side until the replacement comes in.
Glad it happened not instead of the busy season.
