hey all... so I'm wondering if you guys grease the worm drive on the snow blower or the rotator teeth themselves maybe? My bx2816 screams and hollers more than my kid does when I rotate it side to side....I was thinking of lubing it up to quiet it down, but wondered what the general thought was.....

Thanks!!!!

I lube the bearing plate that the chute sits on before/after each season, that's where my noise comes from on a rear blower. the rotator teeth are so far apart any lubrication wouldn't stay on. I do hit the handle guide tube whenever I do the chain.

Do you apply normal zerk grease to the plate? Or like lithium ?

I use white lithium grease on the wide tooth gears, attempting to push it in, but an aerosol of chain lube gets under it well.

I have an older, gently used Buhler, Allied 3pt 50" snow blower..
When you remove the 2 parts of flange collar around the junction of the blower and discharge chute, there is about a 1' tall neck that fits into the chute..

I grease the outside of this neck, inside of the chute, top and bottom of the flange on the chute, and inside of the 2 parts of flange collar that keeps it all together....

The grease I have been using came from a box of stuff from a garage sale.. It is pale faded blue color, and quite stiff.. It sticks well to these surfaces, and has lasted 2 winters now.. I will need to re lube all these surfaces when I take the blower off and store for the summer..

No idea the make, type, intended use for this grease.. It works well in this use..

I have seen pale, faded blue grease. It was intended for boat trailer wheel bearings. I use it on my teardrop camper bearings.
