Hi,

I have the option to buy a used dirt scoop for a three point hitch off craigslist. I own a bx1860 with no FEL. I would like to move dirt / snow around the yard. Will the bx1860 be up to using a scoop? If so, how much scoop is too much?

thanks

Moving snow shouldn't be a problem with a 24" or 30" scoop. For moving dirt (digging into mount) I think anything over 30" will be too much. A 30" King Kutter is for a 18-25 HP tractor.

A 30" is 9 cubic-feet capacity. A standard wheelbarrow is about 6 Cu-ft.

Fred, remember you can load the scoop to the capacity your machine will handle.

Since you don't have a loader, anything you move will be easier and quicker then you have now!

Some scoops are reversible. You can hook up to them and pull to load forward, or you can reverse the position of the cutting edge and push backward to load. Nice feature.
