Has anyone had any experience with bigger or smaller buckets for the backhoe on bx 25? I know it depends on material your digging in. Don't know if the machine would handle any bigger bucket then the standard 12inch?or if the smaller size is the way to go

I've got a 12" on my BX24...
last fall I ran into a fellow up in Bracebridge, Ont. who had an 18" bucket fabricated for his BX24. He says it hasn't come off his backhoe since he put it on 2 years ago. Says he just doesn't dig quite as deep a bite, and it works real good for him.
He told me his Kubota dealer in Bracebridge made it, or had it made for him.

I have a 12" on the backhoe that came with my L185. When the going got too tough for it, I built a 6" bucket. All that I found was that if the 12" wouldn't do it, neither would the 6" I could dig fine with either until I got down to what we call rotten granite, and then I just did not have the power to go farther. Based on that, I would say that if the 12" digs OK, so probably would a 15" or 18"
