I just wanted to update about my post about the grill guard I made for the tractor last week. I was doing same work cleaning up around my garage and don’t know what happened but the guard got ripped off. So I decided to make a new one but this time it is on the inside of the guard , I believe the clearance on the front of the guard was not enough for the FEL to clear the grill guard I installed and it got ripped off by it. Pictures posted of the new guard installed. I just zip tied it until the brackets I made dry, painted them to late today!

My guard tips forward to open the hood. Did you maybe leave yours forward?
I know that it won't hit with my homemade guard as I checked that when building it See it was close and made mine go between the factory uprights.
I have moments where I forget how close something is. I like to leave my garage lift up so I don't trip on the arms, I'm short enough I can walk under them.
One time I didn't have them swung out all the way and I ripped the right mirror off the truck on the way up to the stored position.
No one else there to blame besides me!!

My hood lifts up like a car or truck. So the guard on the side closest to my hood is good distance from the guard.

Sorry i wasn't clear, What I was trying to say was clearing the loader when it was forward and maybe forgotten. I know my loader will miss when the guard is forward or back in normal position but if something was mounted on the front of the factory guard it can't stick out too far.
Does that make sense?

My guard doesn’t move at all. Just when I lift the FEL it moves very close to the guard and it ripped the mesh guard I had made completely off. So I made a new one that will fit in back of the guard. I was not able to work on the tractor today because I had a bear issue with one of my game cameras, he tried to destroy it. Had to go to the woods a today to figure my next
approach with the bears! I will say this, if he’s still in my area when bear season starts, I plan to use DEADLY FORCE ON HIM.
I got a Amazon shipment little bit ago whi I was at a doctors appointment, haven’t been able to get around to opening it yet since I had to help with dinner since my wonderful wife is working during the summer with the school district screening and processing the new hires and she will be done until next summer at the end of the month. Should have everything to install a radio on the tractor, I know, but I like to have a little music as I do chores around the house. I think it’s just the 50-60s generation, we like our music! Just saying! I will post pictures tomorrow, she works half day tomorrow.
Didn’t have time to finish putting the brackets on the tractor for the grill guard but hopefully tomorrow.
Did a little bit on my B2401DT today after working on my JOHN DEERE Z TURN MOWER, first thing I will say is I will never again buy a JD product. The mower is in its second year and the dog gone thing has started having problems. Seems like it is not getting enough fuel, it will start and run good until you engage the blades and it runs but then stops, restarts again and engage the blades again and it starts running fine then stops or struggles like it is starving for fuel. At the price I paid for this mower, it should at least give me a few years worth of maintenance free years, I know that the basic maintenance is a must but major maintenance like new carburetor and blades, really!
And on top of that, my UTV, decided to show its ax today! I was in the woods checking on my food plot and it wouldn’t turn off, yes, the ignition switch seems to be working but it doesn’t turn off. So I let it run and when I got home, I had to leave it in gear and force it to turn off. And it is a 2024 model, Bighorn 400. I ordered a new ignition switch, hopefully that will fix it. If anyone has any suggestions on either one, let me know what you think. Thanks

Oh, on the B2401, as you know, I purchased a CoolTop for the tractor when I got it. I have b adding things to the tractor and now it seems like the CoolTop is pretty bouncy, more than before, I have added, a radio and speakers, lights on top, both front and back. So I made some side supports for the top, that go from the ROPS to the top which has a metal brace that runs left to right on the inside of the top. I got them made and painted them, and tomorrow morning I will put them on the tractor. Pictures coming!
